WPI for February 2025

  • The Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation rate in India for February 2025 stood at 2.38% (provisional), compared to 2.31% in January 2025.

  • Food Items: The wholesale food price inflation rate declined from 7.47% in January to 5.94% in February.
  • Fuel and Power: The rate of price decline in the fuel and power category eased from 2.78% in January to 0.71% in February, putting downward pressure on wholesale inflation.
  • Manufactured Products: The price inflation for manufactured products rose from 2.51% in January to 2.86% in February, becoming another major factor driving wholesale inflation.

Mobile App Launched for PMIS

  • Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, launched a mobile app for the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS).
  • The app will enable youth to easily apply for internships, allowing them to submit applications directly from their mobile devices.

Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme (PMIS):

  • Objective: To prepare youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities for employment by providing them with skills aligned with industry requirements.
  • Target: To offer 1.25 lakh internships during the financial year 2024-25.

Financial Assistance:

  • Interns will receive ₹5,000 per month for 12 months.
  • A one-time grant of ₹6,000 will also be provided.

CPGRAMS Monthly Report February 2025

  • The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) released the Centralised Public Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) Monthly Report for February 2025.
  • This report presents a detailed analysis of the performance of Central Ministries/Departments and is the 34th report published by DARPG.

  • Grievance Disposal: A total of 1,11,392 grievances were disposed of by central ministries/departments in February 2025.
  • Average Disposal Time: From January 1 to February 28, 2025, the average disposal time for grievances in central ministries/departments was 15 days.
  • Grievances through Common Service Centers (CSC): In February 2025, 5,580 grievances were registered through CSCs, reflecting citizen participation in rural areas.

31st Monthly Report of CPGRAMS

  • The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) released the 31st monthly report of the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for states and union territories for February 2025.

  • Grievance settlement: 50,088 complaints settled in February, 1,90,994 pending.
  • New registrations: 47,599 users, highest from Uttar Pradesh (7,312)
