• The Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, launched several key AI initiatives at the IndiaAI Mission anniversary celebration held in New Delhi. These initiatives mark a significant milestone in India's AI journey.

New Initiatives Launched:

1. AIKosha: IndiaAI Dataset Platform – A unified AI dataset platform that will provide better data access to researchers and startups.

2. AI Compute Portal – A portal offering access to 10,000+ GPUs at highly subsidized rates.

3. AI Competency Framework for Public Sector Officials – A framework to equip officials for AI policymaking and implementation.

4. iGOT-AI Mission Karmayogi – An AI-based personalized learning system for government officials.

5. IndiaAI Startup Global Acceleration Program – A program to help Indian startups compete globally.

6. IndiaAI Application Development Initiative – A project to develop impactful AI solutions for society.

7. IndiaAI FutureSkills – A specialized initiative to promote AI skill development and research.

Significance of the IndiaAI Compute Portal:

• MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan emphasized that the AI Compute Portal will revolutionize AI research in India.
• It will provide subsidized AI computing services to startups, MSMEs, researchers, and government agencies.

Seven Pillars of the IndiaAI Mission:

1. IndiaAI Compute – Advanced computing resources for AI researchers.

2. IndiaAI Dataset Platform – Ensuring the availability of high-quality datasets.

IndiaAI Innovation Challenge:

• Under the IndiaAI Application Development Initiative (IADI), the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge was launched.
• 900+ AI solutions were submitted, and 30 AI solutions focusing on healthcare, climate change, agriculture, and education were shortlisted for the next phase.

IndiaAI FutureSkills Fellowship:

• As part of the IndiaAI FutureSkills initiative, IndiaAI Fellowships were awarded to students to promote AI research.
• This fellowship will provide financial and academic support to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students pursuing excellence in AI.
