Prime Minister Modi's Visit to Uttarakhand

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a visit to Uttarakhand on March 6, 2025.
  • During his visit, he offered prayers at Mukhwa village in Uttarkashi district, which serves as the winter abode of Maa Ganga.

Two New Ropeway Projects for Uttarakhand

  • The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two significant ropeway projects in Uttarakhand.

  • Cost: ₹4,081.28 crore
  • Technology: Tri-cable detachable gondola (3S)
  • Capacity: 1,800 passengers per hour per direction, i.e. about 18,000 passengers per day
  • Time savings: The current 8-9 hour journey will be completed in just 36 minutes by ropeway
Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib Ropeway:
  • Length: 12.4 km
  • Cost: ₹2,730.13 crore
  • Current route: Challenging 21-km climb from Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib, completed on foot, pony or palanquin

"Ayodhya Yatra" Mobile App

  • The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA), in collaboration with One Play Group, has launched the "Ayodhya Yatra" mobile app.
  • The app features 20 religious sites, including the Ram Temple, allowing devotees to perform prayers at Ayodhya's temples from their homes.

First Test of ILSS

  • The first test of the Indigenous Integrated Life Support System (ILSS) based on oxygen was successfully completed during the flight of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas.
  • This test was conducted on the LCA-Prototype Vehicle-3 at an altitude of 50,000 feet above sea level and under various flight conditions.

Approval of LHDCP Amendment

  • It includes the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP), LH&DC, and Veterinary Medicine.

Animal Medicine is a new component added to the LH&DC scheme. Provision of Rs 75 crore for this
