Conference of Chief Electoral Officers

  • The two-day conference of India's Chief Electoral Officers will be held on March 4 and 5, 2025.
  • The objective of this conference is to review the preparations for the upcoming elections, improve the election process, and discuss various issues related to election management.

Election Commission:

  • Independent and autonomous constitutional body

  • Composition: One Chief Election Commissioner, two other Election Commissioners

Inauguration of 'Advantage Assam 2.0'

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the two-day 'Advantage Assam 2.0' Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 in Guwahati on February 25.
  • The objective of this summit is to promote investment opportunities in the state of Assam and encourage infrastructure development.

19th installment of PM-Kisan released

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme from Bhagalpur, Bihar, on February 24, 2025.
  • On this occasion, he transferred over ₹22,000 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 9.8 crore farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme:

Net-Zero Emission Target: SBI

  • The State Bank of India (SBI) has set a target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2055. This announcement was made by SBI Chairman Challa Srinivasulu Setty during the inauguration of "SBI Green Marathon Season 5" in Mumbai.
  • SBI launched the 'SBI Green Marathon' in 2018, which has become a symbol of the bank’s strong commitment to India’s ‘Mission LiFE: Lifestyle for Environment’ initiative.

Intensive TB-Free India Campaign

  • The 100-day Intensive TB-Free India Campaign, launched by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Jagat Prakash Nadda, on December 7, 2024, has made significant progress in India's efforts to eliminate tuberculosis (TB).

  • Under the campaign, more than 3.57 lakh TB patients have been identified in 455 priority districts, while a total of more than 5.1 lakh TB patients have been registered across the country.
