Uttar Pradesh Budget, 2025-26

  • The Uttar Pradesh government has presented a budget of ₹8,08,736 crore for the financial year 2025-26, which is 9.8% higher than the previous year.
  • This is the ninth budget of the Yogi government, focusing on various sectors.
  • About 20.5% of the ₹8,08,736 lakh crore budget will be allocated for capital expenditure.
  • The budget allocates 22% for infrastructure development, 13% for education, 11% for agriculture and allied services, 6% for medical and health, and 4% for social security programs.

Key Points:

Focus on Farmers and Youth:

  • Special schemes for the welfare of farmers, such as an allocation of ₹1,050 crore under the Chief Minister Contingency Welfare Scheme.
  • Distribution of smartphones and tablets under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme.

Schemes for Women and Children:

  • Budget allocation of ₹700 crore for the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana.
  • Free scooters for meritorious female students.

Infrastructure Development:

  • Announcement of four new expressways.
  • Development of 58 municipalities under the Smart City Scheme.
  • Provision of ₹4,100 crore for the AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
