Earthquake in Delhi-NCR

  • An earthquake of 4.0 magnitude struck the Delhi-NCR region on February 17, 2025. The epicenter was near the Durgabai Deshmukh College of Special Education in the Dhaula Kuan area of Delhi.
  • According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter was located at 28.59° North latitude and 77.16° East longitude.

Earthquake:

  • A sudden tremor on the Earth's surface.
  • Caused by the movement of tectonic plates or volcanic activity.

New FASTag Rule Implemented

  • The new FASTag rule came into effect on February 17, 2025. Under this rule, users with low balance, delayed payments, or blacklisted FASTags will be subject to additional penalties.

Key Points:

  • Vehicle owners must recharge their FASTag at least 60 minutes before crossing the toll plaza or within 10 minutes after crossing. Otherwise, they may have to pay double the toll fee.
  • If there is no minimum balance in FASTag and the toll payment is not processed after crossing, the toll operator will be held responsible.

FASTag:

  • An electronic toll collection system launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for collecting toll fees at toll plazas efficiently.

Sweet Taste Receptors in Heart Muscles
