Watershed Yatra

  • Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched “Watershed Yatra", a mass outreach campaign, to boost public participation and create awareness about the Watershed Development activities.
  • This outreach campaign will involve van operations for about 60-90 days in 805 projects, covering 6673 Gram Panchayats (13587 villages) across 26 States and 2 Union Territories.

Haryana Village Common Land (Regulation) Act, 1961

  • The Haryana Cabinet approved an amendment to the Haryana Village Common Land (Regulation) Act, 1961, Cabinet also approved the Haryana Wild Life (Protection) Rules, 2024. Under the new rules, criteria have been established for obtaining various types of permits related to the Wildlife Department.

Gujarat set up a 5 member committee to draft a UCC

  • Gujarat set up a five-member committee to draft a Uniform Civil Code. The committee will study the matter and submit a report in 45 days.
UCC is mentioned in Article 44 of the Indian Constitution as a Directive Principle of State Policy.

Sahakar Mitra Internship Scheme

  • National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) launched Sahakar Mitra Internship Scheme.

Objective of the Scheme

 

 

  • To provide a deep immersion opportunity to professional graduates on the role, contribution and impact of NCDC and also cooperatives.
  • To enable the professional graduates, learn the context and practical working of NCDC and cooperatives.
  • To orient professional graduates to the cooperative business model and engage themselves in start- up cooperatives.

77 sites under the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan Initiative

  • The Government has planned to increase installed power generation capacity to 874 GW by 2031-32.
