- In Maharashtra, the Maghi Ganesh festival has been started and will continue till 11 February.
- Maghi Ganesh Jayanti, or Magh Vinayak Chaturthi, is the celebration of the birth of Lord Ganesh. The day is celebrated annually on the Chaturthi Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the Hindu lunar month of Magh.

US imposes tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China
- US President Donald Trump signed three executive orders, one placing 25% tariffs on goods from Mexico another installs 25% tariffs on goods from Canada and a 10% tariffs on Canadian energy sources.
- A third executive order levies an additional 10% tariffs on imports from China.

BCCI’s Lifetime Achievement Award
- Sachin Tendulkar will be honoured with the BCCI’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the Board’s annual gala in Mumbai today.

India Adds 4 New Ramsar Sites
- Ahead of World Wetlands Day Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change announced the addition of four new Ramsar sites in India, taking the tally to 89.
- Added sites are Sakkarakottai Bird Sanctuary and Therthangal Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu, Khecheopalri Wetland in Sikkim, and Udhwa Lake in Jharkhand.

VSHORADS missile
- Three flight-trials of the VSHORADS (Very Short-Range Air Defence System) missile system were successfully conducted off the coast of Odisha by the DRDO and Indian armed forces.
- It is a man portable air defence system designed and developed indigenously by Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in collaboration with other DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners.
