RBI’s Digital Payments Index (RBI-DPI)

  • According to RBI’s Digital Payments Index (RBI-DPI) for September 2024 stands at 465.33, up from 445.50 in March 2024.
  • Digital payments across India recorded a double-digit increase of 11.1% year-on-year (YoY) as of September 2024.

India’s indigenous Artificial intelligence (AI)

  • India is set to launch its indigenous Artificial intelligence (AI) model at an affordable cost.
  • Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said that India’s AI Model will cost less than 100 rupees per hour after 40% government subsidy.
18 citizen-centric applications about the agriculture sector, learning disability and climate change will be part of this AI Model.

Axiom Mission 4

  • ISRO astronaut and Indian Air Force (IAF) officer Shubhanshu Shukla will serve as the pilot for Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4), which is set to travel to the International Space Station (ISS) from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

MoU between Data Innovation lab and IIIT Delhi

  • A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed under the Data Innovation lab initiative between Data Informatics and Innovation Division and Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-Delhi).
The DI Lab is designed to serve as a platform to harness emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Big Data Analytics to enhance data collection, processing, and dissemination.

Guinea eliminated sleeping sickness

  • The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that Guinea has successfully eliminated the gambiense form of human African trypanosomiasis (HAT), also known as sleeping sickness, as a public health problem.
