Context
- India has joined the UN Committee of Experts on Big Data and Data Science for Official Statistics (UN-CEBD), focused on leveraging big data to monitor and report on the Sustainable Development Goals.
What is Big Data?
- Big Data refers to extremely large and complex datasets that cannot be easily managed, processed, or analyzed using traditional data processing tools.

Related Legislations
- The Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023
- The Bill will apply to the processing of digital personal data within India where such data is collected online, or collected offline and is digitised. It will also apply to such processing outside India, if it is for offering goods or services in India.
