Visit of President of Singapore to India

  • Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam will visit India from January 14th to January 18th, to mark the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between India and Singapore.
  • This will be the first official visit by any Singaporean president to the country in 10 years.

Guna Head Post Office and POPSK

  • The Union Minister of Communications and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia inaugurated the newly expanded building of the Guna Head Post Office and Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).
The first post office in India was established by the British East India Company in Bombay in 1764. World Post Day is celebrated each year on 9th October.
