Prime Minister Modi's visit to Kuwait

DNA sequencing facility inaugurated

  • Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Bhupender Yadav, inaugurated the Advanced Facility Centre for Pashmina Authentication and the Next Generation DNA Sequencing Facility at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.

Gir lions

  • Under the Animal Exchange Programme between Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, a pair of Gir lions has been brought to Bhopal from Junagadh’s Sakkarbagh Zoo in Gujarat.

Asiatic Lion:

  • Member of the Panthera leo subspecies
  • Currently Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary is the only habitat of Asiatic lion.
