Haj Suvidha App 2.0

  • Union Minister for Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju has launched the Haj Suvidha App 2.0 in New Delhi during a conference of chairpersons of Haj Committees of states and union territories.

What is Haj?

Hindi Diwas in UN HQ

  • The United Nations celebrated Hindi Diwas in its headquarters on 22nd November.
  • For the first time, the Hindi Diwas was organised in the UN premises.

  • 1949: Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi in Devanagari script as India's official language
  • Article 343(1): States that Hindi in Devanagari script is the official language of the Union.
  • Article 351: Duty of the Union to encourage the spread of the Hindi language.

6th AITIGA Joint Committee Meetings

  • The 6th ASEAN-India Trade in Goods Agreement (AITIGA) Joint Committee and related meetings for discussions on the review of the AITIGA were held in Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • India’s bilateral trade with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) grew by 5.2% to reach $73 billion during April-October 2024.

Green hydrogen buses in Ladakh

  • Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal flagged-off Green hydrogen buses of National Thermal Power Corporation in Ladakh.
  • Ladakh has become the first place in the country, plying hydrogen buses for public transport.
