Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004
- The Supreme Court upheld the constitutional validity of the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004, overturning the Allahabad High Court’s ruling that declared the Act “unconstitutional” and against secularism.
- The Supreme Court held the Madarsa Education Act “unconstitutional” to the extent it regulates higher education in relation to ‘fazil’ and ‘kamil’ degrees granted by Madrasas beyond class XII for being in conflict with the UGC Act.

Material Resources of the Community
- The Supreme Court, in an 8:1 majority ruling led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, held that not all private properties are part of the “material resources of the community” for State redistribution under Article 39(b). However, it noted that some private properties could qualify if they hold significant community value.

Contract Farming Agreements
