- A Constitution Bench of nine judges, in an 8:1 majority judgement, upheld the State legislatures’ right to regulate industrial alcohol.

8th World Congress on Engineering Asset Management
- Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged to reduce India’s annual fuel import of twenty-two lakh crore rupees at 18th World Congress on Engineering Asset Management in New Delhi.

- The Union Government has launched a second phase sale of Bharat Brand Chana Dal through National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Limited (NCCF) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Limited (NAFED) Vans in New Delhi.
- The whole gram will be sold at a retail rate of Rs 58 per kg and lentil dal at Rs 89 per kg.
