ITU-WTSA 2024

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) – World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA) and also inaugurated the 8th India Mobile Congress at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
  • It is for the first time that the ITU-WTSA was hosted in India and the Asia-Pacific.

UNIFIL

  • The Security Council also called for the full implementation of its resolution 1701, which was adopted in 2006 with the aim of keeping peace on the border between Lebanon and Israel.
UNIFIL was created by the UNSC in March 1978 to confirm Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.
