UP Bioplastic Policy
- Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a bio-plastic policy offering subsidies to companies producing biodegradable and compostable plastic. Companies investing ₹1,000 crore or more will receive a 50% subsidy for seven years and 100% state GST reimbursement for 10 years.

Monetary Policy Committee

- According to data released by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) for August 2024 decreased by 0.1 points and stood at 142.6. GAIL's first CBG Plant in Ranchi
- Prime Minister Modi inaugurated Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL)'s first Compressed biogas (CBG) Plant in Ranchi, Jharkhand, converting 150 tonnes of waste into 5,000 kg of Bio-CNG and 25 tons of bio-manure, powering 600 vehicles daily.

The bio- gas is purified to remove hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), water vapour and compressed as Compressed BioGas (CBG), which has methane (CH4) content of more than 90%. |
