10th CPA India Region Conference

  • The Indian Parliament hosted the 10th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Conference in New Delhi, Chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, the event was focused on the theme, "The Role of Legislative Bodies in Attaining Sustainable and Inclusive Development.

Sainik School, Jaipur

  • Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated Sainik School, Jaipur, in Rajasthan, as part of the government's plan to establish 100 new Sainik schools across the country in collaboration with NGOs, state governments, and private schools.

5th Goa Maritime Symposium

 75th Anniversary of Territorial Army

US returned 297 artefacts

  • The US has formally returned 297 artefacts, dating from 2000 BCE to 1900 CE and mainly originating from eastern India, to the Indian government.

On the occasion of the 46th World Heritage Committee in Delhi in July 2024, India and the US signed the first 'Cultural Property Agreement' to prevent and curb the smuggling of artefacts from India to the US.

  • India made history by winning double gold medals at the 2024 Chess Olympiad in Budapest, Hungary. In the open section, India defeated Slovenia, while the women's team triumphed over Azerbaijan to claim gold.
