6th Quad Leaders’ Summit
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 6th annual Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where he announced that India will provide 40 million vaccine doses to Indo-Pacific countries under GAVI and QUAD initiatives during the Cancer Moonshot Event.
- The Maritime Initiative for Training in the Indo-Pacific (MAITRI) was announced to train Quad partners. India will host the first MAITRI workshop in 2025.
- The Quad nations, Australia, India, Japan, and the United States stated "Wilmington Declaration Joint Statement" that the group is "a force for good" and "more strategically aligned than ever."

V.S. Srinivasa Sastri: Considered the first Indian diplomat
- Valangaiman Sankaranarayana Srinivasa Sastri was born on 22 September 1869 in Valangaiman taluk of Tiruvarur district in Tamil Nadu. He was a follower of the principles of the famous Indian freedom fighter Gopal Krishna Gokhale and joined his organisation, the Servants of India Society.
