Global Food Regulators Summit 2024

  • Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda urged collaboration, innovation, and commitment to enhance food safety systems at the Global Food Regulators Summit (GFRS) in New Delhi.t

Bombay High Court quashed FCU

  • The Bombay High Court quashed the provisions for setting up a Fact Checking Unit (FCU) to oversee the content on social media.
  • The Judge said the Information Technology Amendment Rules, 2023, which empower the Centre to set up fact-check units (FCUs) for identifying fake news online, went against Articles 14 and 19 of the Constitution.

21st ASEAN-India Economic Ministers Meeting

  • Union Minister Piyush Goyal co-chaired the 21st ASEAN-India Economic Ministers (AEM-India) meeting in Vientiane, Lao PDR, alongside Lao Minister H.E. Malaithong Kommasith.
  • They reviewed trade relations, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties. India-ASEAN bilateral trade reached USD 120.9 billion in 2023-24, making up 10.9% of India’s global trade.

Open Water Swimming Expedition
