Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre

 

  • Union Minister Amit Shah addressed the first Foundation Day of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) in New Delhi.
  • He has launched key initiatives for cybercrime protection, including the Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC), and introduced "Samanvaya," a web-based platform for cybercrime data sharing and analytics, ‘Cyber Commandos’ program, for establishing a cybersecurity wing of specialists, and unveil the Suspect Registry to strengthen fraud risk management in partnership with banks and financial intermediaries. 

1st Global Cooperative Conference

 

  • India will host the first Global Cooperative Conference from 25th to 30th November in New Delhi.
  • This marks the first time in the 130-year history of the International Cooperative Alliance that the conference will take place in India.

Constitutional Status of Cooperatives

  • Article 19(1)(c): Right to form cooperative societies is a fundamental right.
  • Article 43-B: Directive Principle of State Policy that promotes cooperative societies. 
  • Part IX-B: Titled "The Co-operative Societies" and includes articles 243-ZH to 243-ZT. 

2nd Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation

 

  • India will host the 2nd Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Civil Aviation from September 11 to 12 in New Delhi.
  • The First Ministerial Conference of the Asia Pacific region was organised in 2018 in Beijing, China.
  • The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is the regulatory body for civil aviation in India. 

20th TAC Meeting for the MedTech Mitra initiative

 

  • The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog hosted the 20th Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting for the MedTech Mitra initiative.
  • The event also featured the launch of the 6th edition of the innovation coffee table book series ‘Innovations for You,’ which focuses on Life Sciences and Biotechnology.

Delhi banned firecrackers

 

  • The Delhi government has imposed a complete ban on the production, storage, sale, and use of firecrackers to curb pollution in the city. The ban will remain in effect until January 1 next year.

5 Agreements between India and UAE

 

  • India and the UAE signed five agreements, covering areas like nuclear energy and petroleum. Key agreements include an MoU on Barakah Nuclear Power Plant operations between Emirates Nuclear Energy Company and Nuclear Power Corporation of India, a long-term LNG supply deal between ADNOC and Indian Oil, and another MoU between ADNOC and India Strategic Petroleum Reserve Limited.

  • The All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) rose by 1.3 points to 142.7 in July 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Year-on-year inflation for July 2024 dropped to 2.15%, down from 7.54% in July 2023.
