Reclaim the Night Campaign

6 month treatment for MDR-TB

  • The Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has approved the introduction of the BPaLM regimen, a novel six-month treatment for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), under the National TB Elimination Program (NTEP). This four-drug combination of Bedaquiline, Pretomanid, Linezolid, and Moxifloxacin offers improved success rates and fewer side effects, replacing the traditional 20-month treatment.

Disease is caused by TB bacteria that are resistant to at least isoniazid and rifampin, the most effective first-line TB treatment drugs.

Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts

  • According  to the National Health Authority, Uttar Pradesh ranked first in generation of OPD tokens by generating a total of 4,77,19,482 Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts.

HEPF Shells

  • The Indian Navy is set to induct high-explosive pre-formed fragmentation (HEPF) shells to counter drone swarms. These advanced shells can destroy drones within a five-kilometre range, enhancing the Navy's defence capabilities.

Digi Yatra facility for 9 More Airports

  • Union Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu inaugurated the Digi Yatra facility for nine airports at Visakhapatnam International Airport and virtually launched this facility for eight other AAI’s airports, namely Coimbatore, Dabolim, Indore, Bagdogra, Ranchi, Patna, Raipur, and Bhubaneswar airports.

RBI imposed penalties

  • The Reserve Bank of India has imposed penalties on three entities, including Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd, for non-compliance with specific regulatory provisions. Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd faces a penalty of Rs 3.5 lakh, while Godrej Housing and Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd have been fined Rs 5 lakh each.
