7.12% Growth in Coal Production

• India has registered growth of 7.12% in the overall coal production so far this year. Coal Production as of 25th August 2024, has increased to over 370 million tonnes, compared to over 346 million tonnes during the same period last year.

• The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare released the progress report on area coverage under Kharif crops, showing that total coverage area has surpassed more than 1065 lakh hectares so far.
