National Task Force for Safety of Medical Professionals by SC

  • A bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud of Supreme Court has set up a national task force to ensure the safety of medical professionals, while hearing the case regarding the rape and murder of a doctor at the RG Kar Hospital Kolkata.

Jan Poshan Kendra

  • The Union Minister Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi launched a pilot for the transformation of 60 Fair Price Shops (FPS) into Jan Poshan Kendra.
  • On the occasion, he also launched FPS Sahay application, Mera Ration app 2.0, Quality Management System, Quality Manual Handbook, Contract Manual FCI and NABL Accreditation of 3 Laboratories.

What is FPS?

A FPS is licensed under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, to distribute essential commodities to ration card holders under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS).

DRIPS, PROMPT, JAL VIDYUT DPR Portals Launched

  • Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has launched three online platforms, named as Portal for Online Monitoring of Projects – Thermal (PROMPT), Disaster Resilient Infrastructure for Power Sector (DRIPS) and JAL VIDYUT DPR in New Delhi, to enhance the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of power sector.

MoU between India and SL for LNG development

  • A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Indian company ‘Petronet LNG limited’ and a Sri Lanka based private company for infrastructure development and supply of Liquified Natural Gas in Colombo.
  • The MoU would allow for development of LNG based power plants with capacity of over 1000 MW at Kerawalapitiya near Colombo as well as supply of the fuel from Kochi LNG Terminal.
