3rd Voice of Global South Summit

  • India organised 3rd Voice of Global South Summit, an event underpinned by India's philosophy of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' in New Delhi.

6 new parliamentary committees

  •  Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla constituted six new parliamentary committees, including the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) headed by senior Congress leader K.C. Venugopal, the Estimates Committee and the Public Undertakings Committee.

Citizenship Certificates

  • Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah will distribute citizenship certificates to 188 Hindu expatriates under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Ahmedabad.

17th International Earth Sciences Olympiad

  • In the 17th International Earth Sciences Olympiad (IESO) held in Beijing, the Indian team won three gold and bronze each and two silver medals across three competition categories (Theory and Practical, Earth System Project, and International Team Filed Investigation).

  • Climate change may decrease the distribution range of the Malabar Tree Toad (MTT) by up to 68.7 per cent of the current estimated distribution in India’s protected areas (PAs), according to a study conducted by a concerned group of citizens and scientists.

  •  The Ministry of Electronics and IT (Meity) has invited bids for the empanelment of entities for providing artificial intelligence services on cloud under the Rs 10,372-crore India AI mission, which was approved by the cabinet in March 2024.
