 'Delegated payments' on UPI

  • The RBI has approved 'delegated payments' on UPI, allowing a third party to use the primary user’s account, and has raised the UPI tax payment limit from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh.

  • Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus was sworn in as the chief adviser of Bangladesh's interim government. The 2006 Nobel Peace Prize winner, recognized for his pioneering work on microlending, was appointed head of the interim government following President Mohammed Shahabuddin's dissolution of parliament.

  •  Neeraj Chopra won silver at the Paris Olympics with a best throw of 89.45 meters in the men's javelin final at the Paris Olympics 2024.
  • Pakistan's Nadeem Arshad clinched gold with a record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters.

Bronze medal in Hockey

  • The Indian hockey team, captained by Harmanpreet Singh, secured a 2-1 victory against Spain at the Paris 2024 Olympics, earning the bronze medal in men's hockey for the second consecutive time after a 52-year gap (since 1972).

Vinesh Phogat

  • Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini announced that the State Government will provide all the facilities of a silver medal winner to Vinesh Phogat.
