Ruling on RTE 

  • The Bombay High Court ruled that Maharashtra government's decision exempting private unaided schools from providing 25% quota in Class I or Pre-school for children of disadvantaged sections, if there is a government-run or aided school within 1 km radius of that private school, is "unconstitutional".

  • State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of six to fourteen years.

  • Union Minister Kiren Rijiju inaugurated the Lok Samvardhan Parv in New Delhi.
