• In line with the vision of strengthening investment cooperation between India and Qatar, the first meeting of the Joint Task Force on Investment between the two nations was convened in New Delhi.
• The Joint Task Force was co-chaired by Department of Economic Affairs, Secretary, Ajay Seth and the Undersecretary of Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of Qatar Mohamed bin Hassen Al-Malki.

Biopharmaceutical Alliance

• India, South Korea, Japan, the US, and the European Union launched an alliance to put joint efforts to build a resilient supply chain in the biopharmaceutical sector.
• The announcement was made at the inaugural meeting of the Biopharmaceutical Alliance, held in San Diego, California, during the Bio International Convention 2024, the world’s largest biopharmaceutical exhibition.

UNSC Non-Permanent Members

• Pakistan, Somalia, Denmark, Greece, and Panama elected as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for a 2-year term starting on January 1, 2025, until December 31, 2026.

• The number of high net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in India rose 12.2% in 2023 vs 2022, bringing the total number of HNWIs to 3.589 million, as per The Capgemini Research Institute’s World Wealth Report 2024.
