Citizenship Certificates

Cross-Border UPI Payments
- An Indian digital payments and financial services portal PhonePe has been launched in Sri Lanka.
India’s total exports of Merchandise and Services
- India’s total exports of merchandise and services in April 2024 is estimated to be 64.56 billion dollars against 60.40 billion dollars in April 2023. The data shows a positive growth of 6.88 percent on a yearly basis.
- Merchandise exports grow by 1.08% at USD 34.99 Billion in April 2024 as compared to USD 34.62 Billion in April 2023.
- The merchandise trade deficit stood at $19.1 billion during April 2024, up from $14.44 billion during April 2023.
Unemployment rate
- Unemployment rate in urban areas for persons aged 15 and above has decreased to 6.7 per cent during the previous quarter January to March 2024.
- According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey quarterly bulletin (January to March 2024), the female unemployment rate decreased to 8.5 per cent.
Share of Coal in Power Generation Capacity
- India's share of coal in its total power generation capacity dropped below 50% in Q1 2024, marking the first time since the 1960s.
- Renewable energy accounted for 71.5 percent of the 13,669 MW power generation capacity added by India in Q1 2024.
- At the United Nations' COP28 climate change conference in December last year, world leaders reached a historic agreement to transition away from planet-warming fossil fuels and triple the global renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Windfall Profit Taxes
- Centre reduced windfall gains tax on domestically produced crude to Rs.5700 per tonne from Rs 8,400 per tonne, effective May 16, 2024.
- India first imposed windfall profit taxes on July 1, 2022, joining a host of nations that tax extraordinary profits of energy companies.

BHISHM Cube
- Indian Air Force has tested BHISHM Cube, a state-of the-art indigenous mobile hospital, for airdrop in Agra.
- This cube is a part of the broader initiative named Project BHISHM – Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita and Maitri, is tailored to treat up to 200 casualties.
Army tank repair facilities
- Indian Army has established two high-altitude tank repair facilities in eastern Ladakh to bolster infrastructure and tank operations along the China border.
- One of the new tank repair facilities has been set up in the Daulat Beg Oldi (DBO) sector while the other facility is in Nyoma.
