WTSA 2024
- World Telecommunication Standardisation Assembly (WTSA 2024) will be held in New Delhi from 15 to 24 October 2024.
- The Telecommunication Standardisation Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union organises WTSA which plays a crucial role in shaping the global agenda for the standardisation of telecom and information and communication technologies.

International
'India-Bangladesh Tourism Fair'
- The High Commission of India in Bangladesh organised a seminar on 'India-Bangladesh Tourism Fair' in Dhaka.
- Handicraft items from various states of India including ‘Bidri Art’ (Karnataka), ‘Blue Pottery’ (Rajasthan), and ‘Dokra ornaments’ (Odisha) were displayed on the sidelines of the program.

Defence
Mission Divyastra
- India successfully tested Mission Divyastra, the first flight test of indigenously developed Agni-5 missile with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology.
- This will ensure that a single missile can deploy multiple warheads at different locations.
₹200-crore contract for anti-drone systems
- Defence Ministry has signed a ₹200-crore contract for anti-drone systems for the Army and the Air Force with Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Ltd. (BBBS).
- This is the largest contract signed by the Ministry under the Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative.

Europa Cup
- Indian sailor Vishnu Saravanan won the gold medal at the Europa Cup 2024 in the ILCA 7 category in Mallorca, Spain.
- ILCA7 is a category within the ILCA -International Laser Class Association sailing class.
Mirabai Chanu to head to Paris
- Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has approved weightlifter Mirabai Chanu's proposal to train at LA FERTE-MILON, Paris to prepare ahead for the upcoming Olympic Games.
Asian Olympic qualifiers
- Five women wrestlers have been selected for Asian Olympic qualifiers.
- The team includes Vinesh Phogat, Anshu Malik, Mansi Ahlawat, Nisha Dahiya and Reetika in different categories.
KIRTI programme
- Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur will inaugurate a unique talent hunt event, KIRTI in Chandigarh.
- Khelo India Rising Talent Identification, KIRTI programme is aimed at athletes in the age group between nine to 18 years.
Youth World Boxing Cup
- In the Youth World Boxing Cup, team India ended its campaign as runner-up in Budva, Montenegro.
- Team India clinched 26 medals including 5 gold, 9 silver, and 12 bronze medals.
- Nikita Chand has been awarded the title of 'Best Boxer' of the tournament for her outstanding performance.
