Context
- President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the annual National Tribal Festival Adi Mahotsav 2024 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.
Key Points
- The event, organised by TRIFED under the aegis of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, showcased the rich diversity of India's tribal heritage.
- It was started in the year 2017 and since then it is organised annually.
- The Mahotsav had an extended showcase with over 300 stalls showcasing a diverse array of tribal arts, handicrafts, natural produce and delicious tribal cuisine.
- Along with the usual attractions like handicrafts, handlooms, pottery, jewellery, the festival this year showcases Shri Anna grown by the tribal community.
- Apart from this, a separate food court showcasing tribal cuisine from different parts of the country was also set up.

- The objective of this festival is to introduce the common people to the rich and diverse crafts and culture of the tribal communities at one place
