Background
- The Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare launched an online platform called 'Anubhav Portal' in March 2015 with the objective of sharing the experiences of retiring/retired Central Government employees.
- Under this, it has been envisaged that this culture of providing written documents by the retiring employees will become the foundation of good governance and administrative reforms in future.
- Further in recognition of the invaluable experiences of retired Central Government employees, the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DOPPW) had launched the Anubhav Awards Scheme in 2016.
Key Points
- To join the Anubhav Award Scheme 2024, retiring Central Government employees/pensioners are required to submit their experience document 8 months before retirement and 1 year after retirement.
- Thereafter, they will be evaluated by the concerned Ministries/Departments and then the selected articles will be sent for publication.
- These published articles will be selected for Anubhav Award and certificate from the jury.
- A total of 54 Anubhav Awards have been given from the year 2016 to 2023.
- According to the scheme, all Anubhav articles published on Anubhav Portal from July 31, 2023 to March 31, 2024 will be considered for 05 Anubhav Awards and 10 Jury Committee Certificates.
- The Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare has also launched an outreach campaign to ensure that every pensioner shares his observation experience with a view to encourage wider participation in the Anubhav Award Scheme, 2024.
Importance
- The Anubhav Awards Scheme recognizes the contributions of retired officers to nation building and documenting the administrative narrative of India through written narratives while serving in the government.
