Guru Nanak Jayanti

• Guru Nanak Jayanti marks the birth of the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who laid the foundation of Sikhism.
• This year marks the 554th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
• Guru Nanak Dev was born in 1469 in the village of Talvandi in the Punjab region of present-day Pakistan, now known as Nankana Sahib.

 Night Sky Sanctuary

• Ladakh will soon have South East Asia's first Night Sky Sanctuary as per Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh.
• The Sanctuary is being set up with the help of Indian Institute of Astrophysics Bengaluru.
• The Dark Sky Reserve will be located at Hanle village in Eastern Ladakh as a part of Changthang Wildlife Sanctuary.
• It will boost Astro-tourism in India and will be one of the world’s highest-located sites for optical, infra-red, and gamma-ray telescopes.

• Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri inaugurated floating Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mobile Refueling Unit (MRU) station at Ravidas Ghat, Varanasi.
