54th International Film Festival of India -

Context: 

  • The 54th International Film Festival of India will be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.

 Key points: 

  • This year, the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to the shining star of world cinema, Mr. Michael Douglas, who is known for his significant contribution to the cinematic world.
  • The international section will screen 198 films, including 13 world premieres.
  • 'Catching Dust' will be the opening film; 'About Dry Grass' will be the mid-fest film and 'The Featherweight' will be the closing film.
  • This year 19 award winning films from various prestigious international film festivals have been included in the IFFI Kaleidoscope.
  • The 17th edition of the Film Bazaar this year curated and showcased 300 international film projects for production, distribution or sale.
  • More than 20 ‘Masterclasses’ and ‘In Conversation’ sessions will be organised with eminent filmmakers, cinematographers and actors.
  • Branding and Decoration of Festival Venues: NFDC and ESG have partnered with NID, Ahmedabad for complete decoration and branding of Festival Venues.
